migueltavares.com is run by Miguel Tavares, a sole trader (Empresário em Nome Individual) registered in Portugal, NIF PT208070290, 3850-022 Aveiro, Portugal. Information I collect
Through the contact form I collect your name, email address, company or project, the type of work you need, and your message.
The website also receives limited technical information needed to run and protect it, such as IP address, browser type and request logs.
How I use information
I use contact form messages to reply to you and, if we work together, to prepare and carry out the project. This is based on steps you asked for before a contract, or on my legitimate interest in answering enquiries.
I use technical information to keep the website running and to block abuse, based on my legitimate interest in a secure website. I use analytics only with your consent.
I do not sell personal information and do not use it for advertising.
Service providers
I use trusted providers for web hosting, email delivery (Resend, which delivers contact form messages to my inbox), security and abuse protection (Cloudflare, including Turnstile on the contact form) and, with your consent, website analytics (Google Analytics). Some of them may process data outside the European Union, under the safeguards the GDPR requires, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. They process information only as needed to provide their services.
Data retention
I keep contact form messages for as long as needed to answer you and, if we work together, for the length of the project and the periods required by tax and accounting law. Messages that lead to no work are deleted within 24 months.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive a portable copy, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise them, use the contact form or write to geral [at] migueltavares.com.
You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In Portugal, this is the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD), www.cnpd.pt.
Cookies and local storage
migueltavares.com sets a necessary cookie (preferred_lang) only when you switch language, to remember your choice for one year. Cloudflare may set necessary security cookies, such as __cf_bm, to tell people from bots. The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to detect abuse.
With your consent, migueltavares.com uses Google Analytics, provided by Google Ireland Limited, to measure how visitors use the website: pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and how the visit started. Google Analytics only sets cookies (names starting with _ga) after you click Accept in the cookie banner. Until then, and if you reject, it runs without cookies and sends Google limited, cookieless signals, such as that a page was viewed, which Google uses to estimate visits. Your choice is saved in your browser's local storage. You can change it at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.
